About
Tom qualified in Medicine in 2001 from University of Birmingham. He completed his higher surgical training in Oxford, where he was appointed Senior Fellow in Sarcoma. His NHS practice is based at Morriston Hospital, Swansea leading the Sarcoma MDT and redefining rapid cancer care in Wales. His area of expertise is in Sarcoma and major reconstruction.
Tom offers a broad range of surgical procedures including; skin cancer removal, assessment of moles, removal of lumps, hand surgery (tendon and lump surgery), nerve surgery with surgical reconstruction (skin grafts and flaps). More widely his is also interested in all aspects of reconstruction for sarcoma with interest in abdominal wall reconstruction, chest wall reconstruction, limb functional reconstruction and lympho-venular anastomosis for lymphoedema.
He is widely published across the medical literature most recently in areas of Sarcoma management, Lymphoedema surgery and medical education. He is a Senior Lecturer at Swansea University involved in delivery of the Graduate Entry Medical Degree course and surgical training. He is a strong advocate of education in Sarcoma, hosting one of the few advanced surgical training fellowships in the UK. During his spare time he enjoys running after his four children in the Brecon Beacons.
