Dr Sadie Burdett

Consultant Gynaecologist
Menopause & Gynaecological Health

About

Dr Sadie Burdett is a Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in menopause care. Through ESME Women’s Health, she supports women through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond with calm, evidence-based and highly personalised care.

Sadie understands that menopause is about far more than hormones — it can affect sleep, mood, confidence, relationships, work, and how women feel in their own bodies. Her approach combines up-to-date medical expertise with a holistic, whole-person perspective, helping women feel listened to, informed, and empowered to make choices that are right for them.

Alongside her clinical work, Sadie is a mother of two and works full-time. She understands first-hand the challenge of juggling competing demands while trying to live a healthy, fulfilling life — and how difficult it can feel when your body and energy begin to change. This lived experience shapes her compassionate, realistic, and non-judgemental approach to care.

Patients value Sadie’s calm, approachable style and the time she takes to explain, reassure, and support. Her aim is simple: to help women feel like themselves again.

Alongside her menopause practice, Sadie has extensive specialist experience in general and complex gynaecology, with her NHS work focused primarily on gynaecological cancer.
Sadie cares for women with suspected, newly diagnosed, and previously treated gynaecological cancers. Through ESME Women’s Health, she offers specialist assessment for women who are worried that their symptoms may be related to a gynaecological cancer, including concerns such as abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, vulval symptoms, or other persistent changes. Her approach is clear, thorough, and reassuring, with appropriate investigations and honest explanations.

Sadie also provides specialist follow-up care for women who have previously undergone treatment for gynaecological cancer. This includes support with menopausal symptoms, sexual health, ongoing physical concerns, emotional wellbeing, and long-term recovery — recognising that life after cancer treatment often brings complex and overlapping challenges.

Her combined expertise in menopause, general gynaecology, and gynaecological cancer allows her to offer nuanced, joined-up care, particularly for women whose symptoms sit at the intersection of hormonal change and complex gynaecological health.
